About Matt Dingeldein
Matt Dingeldein is a North Aurora resident running for Kane County Board District 2. With nearly 30 years of business management and sales experience, Matt brings real-world expertise in budgeting, operations, and strategic planning to local government.
As owner and operator of The Oak Grove Gardeners for 14 years, Matt built a successful business from the ground up, managing budgets, employees, and client relationships while maintaining a 96% client retention rate and double-digit profitability even during challenging economic times. He increased profitability by 34% in one year through strategic budgeting, forecasting, and automation, meeting industry standards for cost management.
Currently serving as Outside Sales Representative at Midwest Groundcovers, Matt previously managed their outside sales team, directing sales strategies and leading talent recruitment. He holds a BS in Horticulture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an AAS in Ornamental Horticulture from the College of DuPage. He is also a Sustainable Sites Initiative SITES Accredited Professional.
Matt has a strong record of community service, serving on the Naperville Jaycees Board of Directors including as President, and currently serves on the Illinois ASLA Education Committee and ASLA Planting Design Professional Practice Network. He has been an active member of the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association, now Landscape Illinois, since 2006.
Since moving to North Aurora in 2021, Matt has been impressed by District 2's growth and development. He's ready to bring his business acumen, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to community service to the Kane County Board.
